Mexican Posole

A classic Mexican stew made with pork and hominy. Slightly spicy and very flavorful with the herbs and spices of Mexico. A year round favorite in all parts of Mexico.

 2 cups prepared Orrington Farms® Broth Base Ham Flavored – With Other Natural Flavor
 3 ½ lbs pork butt
 1 whole chopped yellow onion
 1 tbsp granulated garlic
 2 tsp chili pepper
 1 tsp chipotle powder
 1 tsp cumin
 2 tsp Mexican oregano
 2 cans (12 oz) white hominy, strained

To make this Mexican posole recipe mix heated water with Orrington Farms® Broth Base Ham Flavored – With Other Natural Flavor

Place meat in slow cooker and cover with sauce

Add remaining ingredients (except for the white hominy) and cook on low for 7 hours until tender

30 minutes prior to finishing cooking, shred the pork and add the hominy into the slow cooker to allow the flavors to meld

Product will be ready to serve.

Tips & Tricks: Top soup with lime juice and cilantro for additional flavor.
